Hiring
a consultant can bring many benefits to an organization that needs to
change with the times. Consultants can bring fresh thinking, innovation,
and hard-to-find experience to a company desiring to remain competitive.
My
consulting is aimed at developing highly effective leadership,
communication, and people skills among your management and
non-management staff. Lack of communication will kill any relationship,
and if you and your staff lack effective communication skills, you will
also lack effective leadership skills. I help you to "not
lack."

WHY
YOU SHOULD SERIOUSLY CONSIDER HIRING DOUG KELLEY AS A CONSULTANT
I
consider consulting to be a more profound form of involvement in an
organization than periodic training and coaching. When I enter into
a consulting agreement, I pour all of my experience,
knowledge, resources, creative ability, and heart into the process,
not to mention my mental and physical time. In other words, my
knowledge and experience is not simply limited to the topic at hand
as it is in specific-topic seminars. Currently, I will only accept
three consulting clients at any given time.
The
consultant hiring process is a two-way street. You must feel
comfortable with my ability to help you achieve your goals, and I
must feel comfortable that you are serious about making positive
changes.
I
am uniquely qualified to bring real-world leadership, communication,
and people-skills development to your organization. There are few
consultants who will tactfully tell you like it is, for fear of
losing the contract. I am one of the few.
I
will not automatically enter into a consulting agreement simply
because an organization writes me a check. I am very picky about who
I will accept as a consulting client. I will only accept a client if
I feel that I am a good fit with the goals and culture of the
organization. Additionally, I will only accept organizations that
are serious about positive change, and I ALWAYS start with top
management. No exceptions. I am quite capable of making a hugely
positive difference in any organization that is willing, but I will
not waste my time and yours if I perceive initial resistance from
top management. It all starts at the top and trickles down from
there. If top management is not on board, then nothing will change,
and my reputation will suffer (something which is worth more than
any professional fee). I want you to be so happy with my services
that you not only invite me back, but recommend me to other
organizations. My willingness to help is a foregone conclusion. Your
willingness to effect positive change is key.
An
onsite Pre-Agreement Interview is mandatory. This means that I will
travel to your location (at your organization's expense) to meet
with your top management/President/CEO/Owner and discuss whether we
will be a good match. This meeting will last two to three hours. If
we both decide that we want to work together, we will spend another
two to three hours discussing an initial plan of action. I will then
prepare a detailed plan of action that includes my final fee.
I
will only enter into a consulting agreement with the
President/CEO/Owner of an organization. In other words, the top
person must be at least initially and periodically involved in my
efforts. I am happy to work with an intermediary (such as HR) in the
process, but I will not consult with an organization without the top
leadership involved.
If
I feel at any point in the consulting process that my substantial
efforts are being routinely and consistently resisted or ignored
over a reasonable period of time, I will opt out of the agreement
and refund the balance of any unused fee. This does not mean that
you cannot disagree with my recommendations or offer your own ideas.
It means that if my efforts are really doing no measurable good,
then I will opt to discontinue the relationship. So far, this has
never happened. From this, I hope you can read that I am
thoroughly serious about helping you and your organization.
My
honesty, experience, skills, and real-world approach will help you
to achieve your goals.
If
any of the above scares you, then perhaps you should consider
another consultant.
WHY
YOU SHOULD NOT CONSIDER HIRING DOUG KELLEY AS A CONSULTANT
If
you are not serious about reinventing your organizational culture...
If
you want to continue wasting ten's or hundred's of thousands of
dollars on turnover...
If
you like having any of the following in your company:
Low
morale
Negativity
Difficult
and challenging employees who run amok
Employees
with the "entitlement attitude" who only do enough to
get by
Strained
and lost customer relationships because of employee or
organizational mistakes and indifference
Low
productivity
Low
quality
High
turnover
High
absenteeism
Higher
than necessary costs
Higher
potential for wrongful termination lawsuits
Higher
potential for a hostile work environment
If
you are in denial about any of the above going on in your
organization...
...then
you probably shouldn't consider Doug Kelley as a consultant.
CONSULTING
FEES
My
fee for a creating a comprehensive plan for cultural change starts
at $2,500 per month (1 year agreement) for a small company and goes up from there. Medium or
large companies can expect the fee to begin at $5,000 per month (for
1 year), which is
chump change compared to the cost of finding, interviewing, hiring,
and training employees who don't stay, or losing important clients. One large, well-known company
calculated the cost incurred each time an employee walked out the
door at over $100,000. Why not focus that money on something that
will save your organization money instead of flushing it down the
toilet?
My
fee for the initial, onsite consultation is $2,000 per day, plus
travel expenses. Plan on 1 - 2 days. This fee will be included in my
final fee if you decide to engage me.
My
fee for preparing a detailed plan of action is $4,000. This fee will
be included in my final fee if you decide to engage me.
If
you would like more information, please contact me at 941-740-2900.
If you get my voicemail, it means I'm involved in a training
seminar. Please leave a message and I will call you back promptly.
